Radiant Complexion
Turmeric has been found to inhibit enzymes responsible for melanin (dark pigment) production in skin cells. It is also an antioxidant and helps protect the skin against environmental toxins. Chickpea flour has long been used throughout India and South Asia as an exfoliant and in homemade beauty treatments to brighten the skin.
Traditionally, on the morning of their wedding day, brides and grooms were massaged with sesame oil, followed by a body scrub made from chickpea flour, almonds, milk, sandalwood paste, and turmeric as part of a ritual.
Here is a mask recipe that works wonderfully to minimize and even eliminate acne scars. It can also be applied to the entire body to reduce sun spots and leave the skin radiant.

Winter Ailments
For a dry cough, mix turmeric (about one tablespoon) with honey and take three to four times a day. Very effective. This is a traditional remedy in India.
You can also prepare turmeric tea by adding one tablespoon of turmeric to four cups of boiling water. Let steep for a few minutes, strain, and add lemon and honey to taste.
